Florida Companies Forbid Smoking In Private Lives

One of the issues I communicate a lot about, is smoking bans. It’s a big thing for me but not because I smoke. It’s a big thing for me because the destruction of personal freedoms is a big thing.
Westgate Resorts the largest private employer in Central Florida has banned smoking and won’t move from a policy of not hiring smokers and firing employees who do smoke.
“When I open out it was legal to discriminate against smokers. I put the policy in place,” Westgate president and CEO David Seigel said.
Seigel told Local 6 that the policy was prompted by the death of his close friend — a heavy smoker who died of cancer.
What if his friend died in a car accident? Would he be able to blast you for driving a car? How about if he died choking on a Big Mac? How about Aids? Old age?
Look. I experience an employer can fire you or not hire you for whatever reason he see’s fit but this is a dangerous road to go down.
Vilifying smokers is easy but beware because it won’t forbid with smokers. Once we’re all in a nice consume free environment they’ll begin to focus on the fact that you eat Taco attach every day for eat or maybe a co-worker saw you at a bar having a shot of tequila and deem you an alcoholic or maybe you get a speeding ticket and are now a risky driver can’t hire you.
You are ABSOLUTELY change by reversal. I am NOT a smoker any longer but uphold anyone else’s decision to consume. If “they” can get away with this…which alter will they take away next?
