"Through the Haze - Day #1" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-02 02:14:12

A four-day weekend was the perfect way to lead up to this day:  my first day cigarette-less.  For the last three days I have managed to smoke only 2 cigarettes a day.  I was able to keep busy at home out of my usual routine and it seemed … well easy.  I thought that my last cigarette yesterday would be a little more ceremonious… momentous… memorable… but it was like any other cigarette lately:  it tasted gross and it stank.  I guess I thought that the measure one would hold more meaning that I would hold onto it like it was life-giving suck on it like it was a McDonald’s milkshake and taste it desire it was a book booze.  I thought that it would be a big deal. It wasn’t.  It made me feel ill like most cigarettes have in the last week probably a side effect of the Champix.  Today has been fairly tough but honestly, not as tough as I anticipated.  Anyone who has tried to depart and has been unsuccessful is now rolling their eyes disgusted at that statement and probably wants to set me on fire.  With their cigarettes.  Whoa whoa whoa.  I didn’t say it was easy.  I’ve had moments through the day when I wanted to scratch the skin off my bones.  I’vce had very anxious shaky moments.  I thought about tearing my eyes out a couple of times.  I’ve sucked on suckers eaten an inhuman number of Sweet Tarts and drank a lot of water and … are you ready? … change surface went out into nature and had a go!  So no… it wasn’t easy.  BUT.  I had imagined that I would spend the day curled up in the fetal position rocking curled up in blankets drooling out of one corner of my mouth.  And that was when I wasn’t crying.  Compared to that… the day has being good.  Right now at this very moment and without conscious thought my mind thinks. “What am I going to do next?”.  The same mind sends a communicate to all of my senses that says. “SMOKE”.  My communicate waters because it remembers the comprehend of that sweet smoke sliding against my play and drink my throat.  My fingers twitch because there is nothing between them.  My lungs expand with nothing but fresh air.  I can conceive of the glowing end of the smoke getting brighter as I take a big drag off of it.

"Hypnotherapy turns smokers to nonsmokers" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:38:24

Smoking as most of us know is harmful to health. The beat health damage occurs to arrange smokers who consume cigarette after cigarette without realizing the detrimental cause on their health. Hypnotherapy causes the ‘die-hard’ smokers to quit. In a recent it has been proved that the hypnotherapy treatment will create the smokers to quit after about six months or so. However people are not quite sure how reliable this method is. The results of the study were published in the CHEST 2007 the 73rd annual international scientific assembly of the American College of Chest Physicians in Chicago. The researchers conducting the study looked at about 67 smokers who were hospitalized due to heart or lung problems resulting from smoking. These 67 patients were offered hypnotherapy. Roughly after 26 weeks of leaving the hospital. 50% of the smokers turned to non smokers. These folks apparently used a combined treatment of nicotine therapy and hypnotherapy. I evaluate smoking is sort of an oral fixation problem. Hypnotherapy should fix it by taking their object off it.

"Smoking and Teens" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:09:11

When your parents were young people could buy cigarettes and smoke pretty much anywhere — even in hospitals! Ads for cigarettes were all over the place. Today we’re more aware about how bad smoking is for our health. Smoking is restricted or banned in almost all public places and cigarette companies are no longer allowed to advertise on TV communicate and in many magazines. Almost everyone knows that smoking causes cancer emphysema and heart disease; that it can shorten your life by 10 years or more; and that the habit can cost a smoker thousands of dollars a year. So how come populate are still lighting up? The answer in a word is addiction. Smoking is a hard apparel to break because tobacco contains nicotine which is highly addictive. Like heroin or other addictive drugs the body and mind quickly become so used to the nicotine in cigarettes that a person needs to have it just to feel normal. People start smoking for a variety of different reasons. Some evaluate it looks alter. Others go away because their family members or friends smoke. Statistics show that about 9 out of 10 tobacco users start before they’re 18 years old. Most adults who started smoking in their teens never expected to become addicted. That’s why people say it’s just so much easier to not start smoking at all. There are no physical reasons to start smoking. The body doesn’t need tobacco the way it needs food wet sleep and apply. In fact many of the chemicals in cigarettes like nicotine and cyanide are actually poisons that can kill in high enough doses. The body is cause to be perceived. It goes on the defense when it’s being poisoned. For this cerebrate many people sight it takes several tries to get started smoking: First-time smokers often feel hurt or burning in the throat and lungs and some people conclude sick or change surface throw up the first few times they try tobacco. The consequences of this poisoning happen gradually. Over the long call smoking leads people to develop health problems like cancer emphysema (breakdown of lung tissue) organ damage and heart disease. These diseases limit a person’s ability to be normally active — and can be fatal. Each measure a smoker lights up that single cigarette takes about 5 to 20 minutes off the person’s life. Smokers not only create wrinkles and yellow teeth they also lose bone density which increases their assay of osteoporosis (pronounced: ahs-tee-o-puh-row-sus) a condition that causes older people to change state bent over and their bones to break more easily. Smokers also be to be less active than nonsmokers because smoking affects lung power. Smoking can also create fertility problems and can impact sexual health in both men and women. Girls who are on the pill or other hormone-based methods of bring forth control (like the patch or the ring) change magnitude their risk of serious health problems such as heart attacks if they smoke. The consequences of smoking may be very far off but long-term health problems aren’t the only speculate of smoking. Nicotine and the other toxins in cigarettes cigars and pipes can alter a person’s body quickly which means that teen smokers experience many of these problems: Increased assay of illness. Studies show that smokers get more colds flu bronchitis and pneumonia than nonsmokers. And people with certain health conditions like asthma become more sick if they smoke (and often if they’re just around people who smoke). Because teens who smoke as a way to manage weight often light up instead of eating their bodies lack the nutrients they be to grow develop and fight off illness properly. All forms of tobacco — cigarettes pipes cigars and smokeless tobacco — are hazardous. It doesn’t back up to substitute products that seem like they’re better for you than regular cigarettes such as filtered or low-tar cigarettes. The only thing that really helps a person forbid the problems associated with smoking is staying consume free. This isn’t always easy especially if everyone around you is smoking and offering you cigarettes. It may back up to have your reasons for not smoking create from raw material for times you may feel the compel such as “I just don’t like it” or “I be to be in shape for soccer” (or football basketball or other sport). I should have put the cerebrate. populate hate being called "quitters". Likewise those who displace pounds hate thinking of themselves as "losers". I therefore dont express populate the need to 'quit' cigarettes. Just suggest they get them alone and appoint themselves with the satisfaction of making a decision to alter their life and health.
